Speaker: Lee Pollock, Trustee and Advisor to the Board, International Churchill Society, The International Churchill Society is a non-profit research and education organization in Washington D.C. and London. Mr. Pollock was that organization’s Executive Director for 6 years. He was instrumental in the creation of the National Churchill Library and Center at George Washington University. Mr. Pollock will discuss Winston Churchill's trips to Cuba during two different periods of his life and in the country's history, as well as his presence in South Florida shortly before delivering his 1946 address, "The Sinews of Peace," better known as the "Iron Curtain Speech." A light reception will precede the lecture. Co-hosted by the British Consulate General in Miami, the Churchill Society of South Florida, and Cuban Cultural Heritage. This lecture is part of Cuban Cultural Heritage's Leví Marrero Lecture Series.
